Homes with an Atlanta mailing address, which covers the city of Atlanta plus parts of south Fulton, Brookhaven and other areas that share it, account for 2,064 of our service calls between January 2023 and October 17, 2026, 588 of them in the last twelve months. Where a part was replaced, the median Atlanta repair is $385, and half of those 866 repairs came in between $301 and $488, parts, labor and the service call together.

The busiest Atlanta ZIP codes in our records are 30331 (southwest Atlanta, 170 calls), 30349 (south Fulton, 170), 30319 (Brookhaven, 133), 30327 (Buckhead and Paces, 129) and 30318 (West Midtown, 117). The figures below cover all of metro Atlanta.

What 27,346 metro Atlanta home service calls look like

The median metro Atlanta repair that included a replacement part is 364 dollars, parts, labor and the service call together. A quarter of those repairs came in under 295 dollars and a quarter ran above 450. Behind that median sit 12,001 metro Atlanta repairs with a replacement part and the appliance running again, more finished repairs than in any two of our other markets combined.

The only market where the ZIP code is actually knowable

Neighborhood-level repair pricing is usually guesswork, because nobody has enough visits in one ZIP code to say anything. In metro Atlanta we do. 129 local ZIP codes carry at least 30 repairs with a part each, against 88 in Tampa Bay, 76 in South Florida, 26 in Jacksonville and 19 in Charlotte.

Across those 129, medians run from 320 dollars in 30601 (Athens) to 448 dollars in 30305 (Atlanta), a factor of 1.4. And the shape of that spread is the surprise.

Metro Atlanta does not have a simple city-center premium. The intown north side sits at the top, which anyone would guess. But Sharpsburg and Tyrone, forty-five miles southwest in Coweta and Fayette counties, sit right alongside it. Meanwhile Smyrna and Kennesaw, well inside the built-up metro, are near the bottom with Athens and Commerce.

What the expensive ZIP codes share is not distance from downtown, it is the appliance mix. The intown north side runs older houses with built-in and premium units. Sharpsburg, Tyrone and east Newnan run large newer houses on acreage with full-size premium kitchens. Both produce repairs that take longer to reach and use parts that are not general stock.

Smyrna and Kennesaw are dense with mid-2000s townhouse and apartment stock running current-production mainstream machines, which is the cheapest thing in the world to fix.

Georgia runs on gas, and it shows in the repairs

Something appears in the metro Atlanta component data that is close to absent everywhere else we work: the oven igniter. Across 121 local repairs involving an igniter, the median total is 357 dollars.

Run the same search across the cooking repairs in our other markets and it collapses. Tampa Bay returns six, Jacksonville two, South Florida none and Charlotte none. Natural gas reaches a far larger share of metro Atlanta kitchens than it does in Florida or the Carolinas, so gas ranges and gas ovens are simply a much bigger part of what we are called out to fix here.

If your gas oven will not light, the igniter is the first thing to suspect and not the gas valve or the control board. A weak igniter is the most common gas oven failure we see: it still glows, so it looks fine, but it no longer draws enough current to open the safety valve.

That is why a gas oven can glow orange for ten minutes and never heat. It is a diagnosis, not a guess, and a technician can confirm it with a clamp meter before any part is ordered.

How to get a same-day visit in metro Atlanta

We cover 181 metro Atlanta communities spread across a radius that runs from Cartersville to Covington and from Cumming to Peachtree City. Same-day windows open as technicians plan their routes across that map, so the first calls of the morning get the widest choice.

What that means practically: call early in the day, and be flexible about the window rather than the day. That is the quickest way to get a technician to your door.

What breaks in metro Atlanta, and what it costs

The table counts repairs with a part replaced, by the appliance tag on the job. A repair tagged with more than one appliance counts in each of those rows, which adds 312 row entries, and 5,253 of the 12,001 repairs carry no appliance tag and sit in no row. Leaving out the ice maker line, which is part of the row above it, the rows add to 7,060: 12,001 minus 5,253 plus 312.

Metro Atlanta runs more dishwasher work than Florida: 8.8 percent of service calls here are dishwashers, against 7.8 percent in Tampa Bay. Georgia kitchens run dishwashers harder and longer than Florida kitchens do, and at a 342 dollar median it is also the cheapest major appliance in the metro to put right.

Dryers are the machine households want back fastest. A dead dryer stops the laundry today with no substitute in the house.

Brands in metro Atlanta

Samsung leads at 23.2 percent of branded calls with Whirlpool close behind at 22.1, then GE at 17.7, Frigidaire at 11.0, Maytag at 9.0, LG at 7.2, Kenmore at 2.9, Amana at 2.3, KitchenAid at 1.9 and Bosch at 1.9 percent.

Read this correctly. These are shares of the repairs we are dispatched on, which follow how many of each brand are installed in metro Atlanta homes, not how reliable the brands are. A brand that sells more units generates more service calls even when it fails less often. We do not publish reliability rankings from our own call volume, and neither should anyone quoting this table.
