The arithmetic, in one paragraph

Membership costs $179 for the year. It covers five diagnostic visits that would otherwise be $99 each, which is $495 of service call. It also takes $30 off the labor on every repair you approve, all year, with no cap on how many.

So the break-even sits at two visits. One refrigerator call-out and one washer call-out in twelve months and the membership has paid for itself. Everything after that is money you keep.

Who it actually suits

A house with four or five appliances past their seventh year. That is the profile where a year rarely passes without something needing a technician, and where the second call is what hurts.

It also suits anyone who rents property out. A tenant call at 6pm is a diagnostic fee you did not plan for, and priority scheduling means the unit is back in service in a day rather than a week.

If everything in your kitchen is still under the maker’s warranty, membership earns the most from the year that factory cover ends.

What priority scheduling means in practice

Members go to the front of the queue: a 24 to 48 hour response even in the weeks when the board is full. That matters more in July than in October — across 51,634 visits, July runs 49 percent busier than October, and in those weeks the same-day slots are gone by mid-morning.

What the extended warranty adds

Every repair we complete carries 90 days on parts and labor as standard. Membership extends that cover on the work done while you are a member, so a fault that reappears months later is still ours to fix.

It applies to the repairs, not to the appliance as a whole: a new fault on a different part is a new job, at member rates.

What is covered and what is not

Covered: washer, dryer, refrigerator, oven, stove, dishwasher and cooktop — the machines that cost real money when they stop.

Not covered: small countertop appliances. A toaster or a blender is cheaper to replace than to diagnose.
