Dryer Repair Villa Rica GA
In Georgia, a dryer bill that includes a replaced part sits at a $354 median, and the central half of those bills stretches from $298 to $424. Company-wide the median is $352. There are too few Villa Rica dryer bills for a local price we would stand behind, so this page works from the state and company figures.
Dryer Not Drying in Villa Rica? Book a Visit
Clothes still damp at the end of a full cycle, a drum that will not turn, a dryer that shuts itself off, a start button that does nothing, or a thumping and squealing you can hear from the next room. We handle electric and gas dryers, on the floor or on top of a washer, wherever you are in 30180.
Thirteen Villa Rica jobs carry a dryer tag, and they came from 12 separate households. Some older Villa Rica visits were filed without an appliance tag at all, so the real number of dryer visits is higher than the tagged count.
Seven of Thirteen Notes Say Damp Clothes
Reading the 13 Villa Rica dryer notes one at a time, the main complaint is plain. Five say the dryer is not heating, and two more say it is not drying the clothes. Together that is seven of thirteen, more than half the file.
- Not heating, or not drying the clothes. 7 notes.
- Nothing happens at the start button, or a control button has quit. 2 notes.
- Loud noise. 2 notes.
- Switching itself off. 1 note.
- Drum not turning. 1 note.
Some notes appear in two groups, for example a dryer that is loud and also not drying. One customer added that a second dryer in the same house was taking longer to dry, too. Not one of the 13 notes mentions the vent. That is the gap this page is about.
The Vent Is Part of the Diagnosis
A dryer that runs but leaves the load damp can have a failed part inside the cabinet. It can also have a vent run so restricted that warm, wet air cannot leave the drum. From the laundry room the two look the same: the cycle ends and the clothes are still wet.
That is why the diagnosis covers both halves: a meter on the heat circuit inside the cabinet, and a look at how freely air leaves it. Our company figures show why it matters to find the right one. Clearing a blocked vent has a $350 median. Replacing a heating element has a $362 median. The two bills are $12 apart, so the money is decided by finding the actual fault, not by the price of either job.
| Dryer repair | Company-wide median |
|---|---|
| Door switch | $321 |
| Drive belt | $322 |
| Thermal fuse | $332 |
| Drum rollers or idler pulley | $349 |
| Thermostat | $350 |
| Blocked vent cleared | $350 |
| Heating element | $362 |
| Blower wheel | $368 |
| Drive motor | $394 |
| Control board | $478 |
The three heat parts, the thermal fuse at $332, the thermostat at $350 and the element at $362, sit within $30 of each other. Grouped by complaint instead of part, a dryer with no heat has a $368 company median and one that leaves the clothes damp has $365.
Dryer Vent Advice From the U.S. Fire Administration
The U.S. Fire Administration ranks a dryer that was not cleaned first among the causes of house fires that start in dryers. The agencyβs advice for households covers three points we can repeat here: clear the lint screen with every load, use metal duct, rigid or flexible, for the vent so drying times stay short, and arrange a periodic vent inspection.
Cleaning the lint filter is part of normal use. Anything beyond that, such as opening the cabinet or taking the vent apart, belongs to the technician. If the dryer smells of burning or gets unusually hot to the touch, turn it off and leave it off until it has been checked.
We cover how vent service fits in on our page about dryer vent cleaning.
How the Technician Separates a Vent From a Part
The diagnosis follows the heat and the air. On an electric dryer, the technician checks that power reaches the heating element and measures the element, the thermal fuse and the thermostats with a meter. A gas model needs a glowing igniter and an opening gas valve before any heat appears. If the heat circuit tests good, the question becomes whether the warm, wet air can get out.
For that, the technician looks at the airflow leaving the back of the dryer and along the duct. A long run, several bends, a crushed section behind the machine or a duct packed with lint all slow the air down. A fault in either place produces the same damp load, which is why the visit covers both before any price is given.
The result is one named cause and one price. If the vent is the cause, you hear that. If a part inside the dryer failed, you hear which one.
Before the Villa Rica Dryer Visit
A dryer that still turns but does not heat is safe to leave off until the visit. A dryer that smells of burning, trips the breaker or feels hotter than normal on the outside should be switched off and left off. A gas dryer that smells of gas is a different matter: get everyone out of the house first, then phone the gas company from outdoors.
When you book, have the brand, the model number from the label inside the door, and a short description of what happens. Mention where the dryer stands and whether it vents through a wall or the roof, if you know. It helps the technician plan the visit.
Gas or Electric in Villa Rica Homes
Our Villa Rica dryer notes do not mention gas, and the tags do not record which fuel each dryer uses. The Census Bureauβs 2020 to 2024 survey gives a clue about the area, though it measures home heating, not laundry. Electric heat is the majority in 30180, at 56.9 percent of occupied homes; utility gas covers 32.1 percent and propane or other bottled gas 9.3 percent. Within the city boundary, nearly half the homes, 47.8 percent, use utility gas for heat.
A home heated with gas may still have an electric dryer, and the reverse. Tell us which kind you have when you book. A gas dryer has an igniter and a gas valve in place of the electric heating element, and the technician brings parts for the right type.

GE and Whirlpool lead GE 5 Β· WHIRLPOOL 4
All 13 Villa Rica dryer jobs name a brand. Five are GE and four Whirlpool, with two Samsung and a single Electrolux and Maytag. A brand count shows who phoned us, not whose dryer lasts.
Washer and dryer on one ticket BOTH MACHINES
A single Villa Rica ticket paired a GE dryer that was not drying with a GE washer that would not spin, and both were repaired on it. If both machines in the laundry room have a problem, mention it when you book, and each one gets its own diagnosis and price.
A dryer that cuts out SHUTS OFF $368
One note describes an Electrolux dryer that kept switching off. Company-wide, a dryer that shuts off mid-cycle has a $368 median, the same as a dryer with no heat. Thermostats, the motor and the airflow are all tested before a part is named.
Buttons and timers BOARD $478
Two notes describe a dryer that would not respond: one where nothing happened at the press of the button, one with a timer button that stopped working. A door switch is a $321 repair company-wide, while a control board is $478, the most expensive line on our dryer list.
When the dryer is stacked $150 VISIT
A dryer mounted over a washer counts as a stacked pair, and that visit is $150, not $99. Say so when you book; that $150 also comes off an approved repair.
No seasonal claim NOT PUBLISHED
We publish monthly booking patterns for some appliances, but not for dryers. We do not publish a dryer peak month, so this card makes no seasonal claim on purpose.

Symptom to Test Order
- Runs but no heat, electric dryer: thermal fuse, heating element, thermostats, then the airflow out of the cabinet.
- Runs but no heat, gas dryer: igniter, gas valve coils, flame sensor, then the airflow.
- Long cycles and damp loads: airflow through the duct is checked before the heat circuit and the moisture sensor.
- Drum will not turn: drive belt, idler pulley, motor.
- Thumping or squealing: drum rollers, idler pulley, blower wheel.
- No start at all: door switch, start switch, control board.
Treat the list as a map of the technicianβs checks, not as instructions for opening the dryer.
Repair or a New Dryer
Nine of the ten lines on our company dryer list stay at or under $394, starting from $321. The control board, at $478, is the one where the age of the dryer deserves a closer look. The technician also tells you if belts, rollers or the drum bearing show wear, so the choice rests on the whole machine and not on one part. Once the fault has a name, so does the price, and the call is yours. Background: how long dryers last and the repair or replace guide.

- Warranty: 90 days on parts and labor.

Dryer Questions From Villa Rica Callers
What will a dryer repair cost me in Villa Rica, GA?
Statewide, our dryer bills with a part settle at $354, and half of them land from $298 to $424 with everything included. Our Villa Rica dryer invoices are too few to stand as their own median. Approving the repair folds the $99 visit into it, and 90 days of coverage follow.
My dryer runs but the clothes stay damp. What does that cost?
It depends on whether the fault is in the vent or inside the dryer. Our company bills put a cleared vent at $350 and a new heating element at $362, almost the same money. Heat or drying complaints are in 7 of the 13 notes on our Villa Rica dryer jobs.
Do you check the vent during a dryer repair?
Yes. A restricted vent and a failed heat part both leave the load damp, so the diagnosis covers the airflow out of the dryer as well as the heat circuit inside it.
Do you repair gas dryers in Villa Rica?
Yes. Tell us at booking that the dryer is gas, so the technician brings igniter and gas valve parts. The diagnostic and warranty are the same as for an electric dryer.
My dryer keeps shutting off. Is that serious?
It should be checked. Turn it off and leave it off if it smells of burning or feels unusually hot. Across the company, dryers booked for shutting off end at a $368 median bill.
Does a stacked washer-dryer cost more to diagnose?
Yes, a stacked pair is $150 to diagnose against $99 for a single dryer, and the fee still goes toward an approved repair.
Which dryer brands do you see in Villa Rica?
Five GE dryers and four Whirlpools make up most of our Villa Rica dryer tags, ahead of two Samsungs and one each from Electrolux and Maytag. We repair every one of them.
