Comprehensive microwave repair services

Your microwave is the appliance nobody thinks about until the morning it stops. It is also the appliance that fails most differently from everything else in the kitchen: a microwave that lights up, hums, and turns its tray while heating nothing is not partly working — it has a specific high-voltage fault, and no amount of cleaning or resetting will change that. Bozmanfix repairs countertop, over-the-range, built-in, and drawer microwaves from every major brand, and we start by telling you plainly whether the repair makes financial sense, because with microwaves that answer depends entirely on which type you own.

Sparking or arcing inside

Arcing that looks alarming is usually caused by the cheapest part in the machine. The waveguide cover — a small mica panel on the interior wall — absorbs grease and food splatter until it chars and begins to arc. Unplug it and stop using it: continued arcing burns the cavity itself, and cavity damage is what turns a small repair into a dead microwave.

Runs but does not heat

Everything looks normal — the light is on, the fan runs, the tray turns — and the food comes out cold. This is the most common microwave fault, and it is always in the high-voltage circuit: the magnetron, the high-voltage diode, or the capacitor. It is never a setting or a program, which is why unplugging it to reset never helps.

Turntable will not turn

Food heats unevenly with hot and cold spots, or the tray sits still while the microwave otherwise runs normally. The cause is mechanical rather than electrical — a failed turntable motor, a cracked drive coupler, or a worn roller ring. On over-the-range units we check the vent fan and grease filter at the same visit, because blocked airflow above a cooktop causes overheating faults later.$

Will not turn on at all

A dead display and no response to any button is usually a safety component doing its job. Every microwave has interlock switches that must confirm the door is closed, plus a thermal fuse and a line fuse designed to fail before anything expensive does. A worn door latch or one failed interlock shuts the whole appliance down while everything else is healthy — a far more common cause than a failed control board.
