Appliance Repair in Houston, TX

This page is the coverage index for the Houston metro, and it is built on our own service record here: 1,410 service calls across 139 ZIP codes and 43 communities between June 2023 and October 2025. Read what customers say about these visits in our customer reviews.

Below are the numbers behind that record, then every appliance page we have written for this area. Pricing, warranty terms and booking for the metro as a whole are set out further down this page.

Appliance down in Houston right now?

Same-day slots are set first thing in the morning. Diagnostic is 99 dollars and it comes off the bill when you approve the repair.

The fastest metro we run, anywhere

Across every market we serve, we measure how often a call that comes in today gets a technician today. Houston is our best number and it is not close: 38.5 percent of visits here went out the same day the call came in. The Dallas Fort Worth metroplex is second at 26 percent, Charlotte follows at 25.6, and Philadelphia sits at 18.6.

The reason is geography, not effort. This metro’s demand sits in a tight band along the west and southwest, so a technician finishing in Katy is twenty minutes from the next job in Cypress or Fulshear rather than an hour across a metroplex. When people say same-day appliance repair in Houston and mean it, that is the road network doing the work.

It still is not a promise for every call. Morning calls usually get a slot that day, late afternoon calls usually get the next morning, and we tell you which one you are getting when you book rather than after you have waited.

The most Samsung-heavy market on our map

Brand mix decides how fast a part arrives and how much it costs, and Houston has the most distinctive mix we see. Samsung is 28.2 percent of branded repairs here, the highest Samsung share of any metro we serve, ahead of South Florida at 24.1 percent and Tampa Bay at 23.6. GE runs second at 25.8 percent and Whirlpool third at 21.7.

BrandShare of branded repairs hereRepairs on record

GE25.8 percent107
Whirlpool21.7 percent90
Maytag8.7 percent36
Frigidaire8.0 percent33
Bosch3.1 percent13
Amana2.2 percent9

Samsung dominance has a practical consequence worth knowing before you call anyone. Samsung parts move through a narrower distribution network than Whirlpool or GE parts, so the difference between a company that stocks Samsung components and one that orders them per job is a matter of days, not hours. Our vans in this metro carry a deeper Samsung stock than they do in Dallas Fort Worth, where Whirlpool leads instead, for exactly that reason.

What a repair costs in this metro

Of the 1,410 visits here, 666 ended with a part replaced, which is 47.2 percent. The median of those repairs is 322 dollars, and that figure covers the part, the labor and the service call together, not the part alone. A quarter came in under 234 dollars and a quarter ran above 384.

We run one price list in every market. Houston lands in the middle of our range: above the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex at 298 dollars and Charlotte at 288, below Atlanta at 333, South Florida at 350 and Jacksonville at 368. What pushes this metro above Dallas is the appliance mix, and specifically the ovens.

Stove351 dollars3.8 percent13
Freezer295 dollars3.8 percent13
Cooktop325 dollars1.5 percent5
Ice maker322 dollars29
All appliances322 dollars666

Ovens are 11.2 percent of the single-appliance work here, the highest oven share of any metro we run, and at a 365 dollar median they are also the most expensive common repair on this list. Built-in wall ovens in the newer west-side subdivisions are the reason: the control boards and door assemblies on those cost more than the equivalent part on a freestanding range.

The washer and the dishwasher, at 297 and 298 dollars, are the repairs that most often save a customer a replacement. Refrigerators at 350 dollars are worth doing in most cases, with one honest exception we will tell you about on the visit: a sealed-system failure on a unit past about fifteen years is where the parts stop being worth it.

Ice makers are their own job here

Twenty-nine paid ice maker repairs sit on our Houston record at a median of 322 dollars, and it is worth separating them from refrigerator work even though the ice maker lives inside the fridge. The fault is rarely the ice maker module itself. More often it is the water inlet valve, the fill tube freezing over, or the dispenser flap on a door-mounted system, and telling those apart on the phone is guesswork, which is exactly what the diagnostic visit exists to avoid.

Two things about this metro make it a common call. The first is that in-door ice systems are standard on the Samsung and GE refrigerators that dominate our brand mix here. The second is water: the mineral load in this area builds scale on the inlet valve and in the fill tube, and a system that ices over once will do it again until the actual restriction is cleared rather than melted. When a technician tells you the fix is replacing a valve instead of defrosting the line, that is why.

West is where the work is

The busiest postcodes on our Houston record are all on the west and southwest side. 77433 in Cypress leads with 75 visits, then 77494 in Katy with 56, 77479 in Sugar Land with 52, 77449 in Katy with 50, and 77429 in Cypress and 77493 in Katy with 48 each. That band, Katy through Cypress down to Sugar Land and Richmond, is the dense core of what we do in this metro.

Houston proper is still the single largest city on the record with 190 paid repairs, and we cover it fully, from the inner loop out to Humble and Atascocita on the north side and Pasadena and Friendswood to the southeast. But the suburbs are not an afterthought here, they are the centre of gravity, which is also why the same-day number is what it is.

CityMedian repairMiddle half of billsPaid repairs
Fulshear416 dollars285 to 563 dollars11
League City361 dollars316 to 420 dollars16
Missouri City345 dollars243 to 385 dollars26

Cypress300 dollars180 to 394 dollars64
Sugar Land280 dollars185 to 345 dollars49
Pearland270 dollars180 to 413 dollars11

Fulshear at 416 dollars is the most expensive place in this metro to get an appliance fixed, and the middle half of its bills runs from 285 to 563, the widest band on the list. That is what new large-home construction looks like in one number: counter-depth and built-in refrigeration, double wall ovens, and parts that cost what they cost. Sugar Land at 280 dollars and Pearland at 270 sit at the other end with more standard kitchens.

What happens on the visit

The technician tests the appliance before quoting anything, which is why more than half of what we do here ends without a part: 666 of 1,410 visits, 47.2 percent, ended with a part replaced, and the rest were adjustments, installation faults, appliances still covered by a manufacturer warranty we sent the customer back to, or machines we said were not worth repairing.

When a part is needed you get the total before work starts. The median is 322 dollars, but a median is not a quote: a quarter of repairs here land under 234 dollars and a quarter above 384, and which side you are on depends on the part, not on the postcode. There is no separate trip charge for Katy, Cypress or League City, and every repair carries our warranty on parts and labor. If the same fault comes back inside that window, the return visit is on us rather than on you.

Houston appliance repair questions, answered with our own numbers

How much does appliance repair cost in Houston?

Across 666 completed Houston-area repairs where a part was replaced, the median total was 322 dollars, covering the part, the labor and the service call together. A quarter came in under 234 dollars and a quarter ran above 384 dollars. The 99 dollar diagnostic comes off that total when you approve the repair.

Can you really come out the same day in Houston?

More often here than anywhere else we work. On our record 38.5 percent of Houston visits went out the same day the call came in, the highest rate of any metro we serve, against 26 percent in Dallas Fort Worth and 18.6 percent in Philadelphia. Morning calls usually get a slot that day, late afternoon calls usually get the next morning.

Which appliance brands do you service most in Houston?

Samsung leads at 28.2 percent of branded repairs, the highest Samsung share of any metro we serve, followed by GE at 25.8 percent and Whirlpool at 21.7 percent. Because Samsung parts move through a narrower distribution network, our vans here carry a deeper Samsung stock than they do in our other markets.

Why is an oven repair more expensive here?

Ovens are 11.2 percent of the single-appliance work in this metro, the highest oven share on our map, and their median repair is 365 dollars against 322 for the metro as a whole. The reason is built-in wall ovens in the newer west-side subdivisions, where control boards and door assemblies cost more than the same part on a freestanding range.

Do you cover Katy, Cypress and Sugar Land, or only Houston proper?

The west side is the densest part of our record. Our busiest Houston postcodes are 77433 in Cypress with 75 visits, 77494 in Katy with 56 and 77479 in Sugar Land with 52. Katy has 90 paid repairs on our record, Cypress 64 and Sugar Land 49, against 190 in Houston proper.

Does the price change depending on which suburb I am in?

The price list does not change, but the typical bill does because the kitchens differ. Fulshear is the highest at a 416 dollar median, League City is next at 361, and Sugar Land at 280 and Pearland at 270 are the lowest. Houston proper sits at 325 dollars. There is no separate trip charge for the outer suburbs.

Which appliance is cheapest to repair in Houston?

The washer at a 297 dollar median and the dishwasher at 298, against 350 for a refrigerator and 365 for an oven. Those two are also the repairs that most often save a customer from buying a replacement machine.

What does the 99 dollar diagnostic include?

A technician comes out, tests the appliance, finds the fault and quotes the repair before any work starts. If you approve the repair, the 99 dollars comes off the total. If you decide not to go ahead, the 99 dollars is all you pay.

Which areas around Houston do you cover?

43 communities across 139 postcodes: the city itself, Katy, Cypress, Fulshear, Richmond and Brookshire in the west, Sugar Land, Missouri City and Stafford to the southwest, Spring, Tomball, Humble and Atascocita to the north, and Pasadena, Friendswood, League City and Pearland to the southeast.

Is a 350 dollar refrigerator repair worth it?

In most cases yes, because the common faults are fans, control boards and sealed-system components that are one-visit repairs, and a replacement refrigerator of the same class does not start near 350 dollars. The exception is a unit past about fifteen years with a failed compressor, and we say that on the visit rather than selling you the part.
