Empty the lint screen and wash it. A screen that looks clean can still be sealed by an invisible film from dryer sheets. Hold it under a running tap — if water pools on the mesh instead of pouring through, scrub it with washing-up liquid and a brush. That film alone can halve your airflow.
Pull the vent hose off the back and run the dryer for a minute. With the duct disconnected, put your hand behind the machine. Strong warm airflow means the dryer is fine and the duct is the problem. Weak airflow points inside the machine, at the blower wheel or the fan housing.
Check the flap on the outside wall. Go outside while the dryer runs and look at the vent hood. The flap should be pushed open with air coming out. A flap stuck shut with lint, or a bird’s nest behind it, blocks the whole system, and this is where a surprising number of no-heat calls end.
Clear the duct itself. Disconnect the hose and vacuum as far in as you can reach from both ends. Long runs, and runs with several elbows, hold far more lint than people expect and are the usual reason a dryer got gradually worse over months rather than failing suddenly.
Wipe the moisture sensor bars. On the inside of the drum, near the lint screen opening, there are two metal strips. Fabric softener leaves a film on them that makes the dryer think the load is already dry, so it shuts off early. Wipe them with a cloth and a little rubbing alcohol.

If the breaker is sound, the vent is clear and strong airflow comes out of the back with the duct off, and the drum still tumbles cold, the fault is inside the heat circuit. That needs a meter: an element, a thermal fuse, a thermostat and a control board all produce the same cold laundry at four different prices.
