Appliance Repair in Northwest and West Charlotte, NC

🔧 157 Jobs Across Three ZIP Codes 🏠 147 Households in 28216 · 28214 · 28208 💰 $305 Median With a Part Replaced 🧺 The Washer Is a Third of Everything We Do Here 🛡️ 90-Day Parts and Labor Warranty

Appliance repair in northwest and west Charlotte runs a median of $305 once a part is replaced, with the middle half of jobs between $273 and $360. That comes from 157 work orders inside ZIP codes 28216, 28214 and 28208 — 115 paid visits and 67 jobs where a real component came out of the van.

This is also the most lopsided appliance mix we have anywhere: the washer is 32.6 percent of the machines we are called to here against 22.4 percent company-wide, while the refrigerator is 19.8 percent against 37.2. Almost exactly reversed.

Appliance Repair — 28216, 28214 and 28208

One number covers all three ZIP codes at the same price list, with no travel charge between them. Fifty-three of these 157 jobs are from the last twelve months, which makes this the most active of our Charlotte routes. The $99 diagnostic is applied to the repair when you approve it.

What Appliance Repair Costs Here, by Machine

Every figure below is the full ticket — part, labour and the service call together — which is the number that lands on your bill rather than the price of a component on a parts website.

The source column says whether the median comes from our own jobs in these three ZIP codes or from the whole company, and the job count tells you how much weight it can carry. Where the local sample is thin we label it in the row rather than dressing it up.

💡 Read that table with the job counts in view. Only the washer, at 16 local component jobs, and the cluster total at 67 carry real weight. Everything else here rests on four to six invoices, which is enough to publish with a label and nowhere near enough to argue with. If your refrigerator or oven quote comes back at the company figure rather than ours, that is normal.

That is a direct consequence of the mix. Because the washer is a third of everything we do in these ZIP codes and the refrigerator under a fifth, our local washer sample is deep and our local refrigerator sample is shallow — the reverse of every other cluster in Charlotte.

It is worth saying what the mix does not mean. It does not mean refrigerators break less here; it means the refrigerator calls in this part of the city are not reaching us in the same proportion. And it does not change what you pay: the price list, the $99 diagnostic and the 90-day parts and labour warranty are identical across the whole metro.

Why Northwest and West Charlotte Appliances Fail the Way They Do

The most inverted machine mix in our book WASHER 32.6 · FRIDGE 19.8

Of the 86 jobs in these ZIP codes where the paperwork names an appliance, 28 are washers, 17 refrigerators, 14 dishwashers, 12 dryers, 12 ovens and 3 ice makers or freezers. Company-wide those first two run 22.4 percent and 37.2 percent — so here the order is not just reversed, the gap is wide in both directions.

Laundry as a whole, washers and dryers together, is 46.5 percent of our work in these three ZIP codes against 33.1 percent company-wide. That is the single defining fact about this part of the city in our data.

The freshest route in our Charlotte book 53 OF 157 IN THE LAST YEAR

Thirty-four percent of everything we have ever done in these ZIP codes happened in the last twelve months, against 23 percent in the SouthPark cluster and 25 percent in Mint Hill and east Charlotte. In 28214 it is 22 of 52 jobs, 42 percent.

That matters for how you read this page: the prices are current, they are still filling in, and several of the per-machine samples will look very different a year from now. We would rather flag that than have you find out from a quote that does not match.

Whirlpool leads here, and GE does not 29 OF 90 BRANDED

Of 90 branded work orders, Whirlpool accounts for 29, Samsung 22, GE 18, Frigidaire 9 and LG 5, with small counts of Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid, Kenmore and one Roper. Whirlpool at 32 percent is a clear lead, where GE leads both of our other Charlotte clusters.

Not one Bosch, Thermador, Wolf, Miele, Asko or Sub-Zero job in 157 work orders. The practical upside is speed: belts, pumps, lid switches, elements and igniters for all the platforms above ride on the van, so most repairs here finish on the first visit.

This is a record of how often we are called to a brand, not a reliability ranking — that question is on most reliable appliance brands.

Half this housing is rented, and that changes who is booking 28208 IS 60.6 PERCENT RENTED

Renter-occupied shares in the three ZIP codes run 60.61 percent in 28208, 49.12 percent in 28216 and 24.30 percent in 28214, per zip-codes.com. In practice a large share of the machines we open here were supplied with the property rather than chosen by the person using them, and the person paying is often not the person standing in the kitchen.

Two things follow that are worth stating: we will give the diagnosis to whoever is paying, on the phone if the landlord is not on site, and at $99 the diagnostic is the cheapest way to find out whether a builder-supplied machine is worth spending anything on at all.

67 of our 115 paid visits in these three ZIP codes ended with a real part replaced. Same price list across 28216, 28214 and 28208. Book online or call (252) 629-9832.

Housing and tenure figures come from zip-codes.com; the job columns are ours. The medians in that middle column are the thing to notice: $299, $312 and $308 across three ZIP codes whose median home values run $236,300, $287,000 and $295,800. A 25 percent spread in house prices produces a four percent spread in the repair bill.

We have now run that comparison in four markets and it comes out the same every time — what sets the price is the component and the labour hour, not the address. Our figures for the wealthiest ZIP codes in the city are on the SouthPark and Providence hub, where homes cost two to three times more and the median ticket is $320.

What the Cluster Covers

The three ZIP codes hold 138,735 people and 55,992 housing units across 84.2 square miles of Mecklenburg County. 28216 and 28214 sit north-west of uptown, 28214 reaching out toward the Catawba and the Mountain Island Lake side of the county, while 28208 lies west of the centre toward the airport and is by far the densest of the three — 38,614 people in 20.2 square miles.

All 157 of our work orders here are addressed simply to Charlotte, because the Postal Service gives none of these ZIP codes an accepted alternative city name.

There is no travel surcharge between any two addresses, but 84 square miles is a real distance, so book early in the day if you are toward the western or northern edges. Coverage across the rest of the metro is on the Charlotte locations page.

Match Your Machine to the Right Page

  • Will not spin, will not drain, walking across the floor, error code — 28 local jobs and the deepest sample we hold here, median $304 with a part. Go to washer repair in northwest Charlotte.
  • Fresh food warming while the freezer stays cold, frost on the back wall, no ice — 17 local jobs, and a smaller share of our work here than anywhere else we operate. Go to refrigerator repair.
  • Not draining, not cleaning, leaking at the door — 14 local jobs, only four with a part replaced, so this page leans on company figures and says so. Go to dishwasher repair.
  • Not drying in one cycle, no heat at all, drum will not turn — 12 local jobs and the highest part-fitted share we record anywhere, one visit in eight. Go to dryer repair.
  • Oven runs hot or cold, burner will not light, bake element out — 12 local jobs. Run the free thermometer test on the oven and range page when you book anything.
  • Ice maker stopped, chest or upright freezer not freezing — 3 local jobs, so that page runs entirely on company figures. Go to ice maker and freezer repair.
Two checks before any call. First, a thermometer left inside the fridge for a few hours beats the display on the door — 37 to 40°F in the fresh food section and 0°F in the freezer. Second, pull the machine out and look: a condenser coil packed with dust imitates a dying compressor, a kinked drain hose imitates a failed pump, an unlevel washer imitates a broken suspension, and a blocked dryer vent imitates a burnt-out heating element. Seventy-seven of our 115 paid visits here ended with a part fitted, and these checks are the cheapest way to stay out of that number.

That last row is not an oversight, it is the finding. There is no premium or integrated equipment in our book for these three ZIP codes at all, where the SouthPark cluster across town has 15 Bosch jobs, four Thermador and a Wolf.

The consequence is entirely practical and it works in your favour: every platform on the list above is one whose common failure parts we carry, so a repair here is far more likely to finish on the first visit than to wait several days on an ordered component.

Two Roper and Amana machines in the book are also a quiet reminder of how long budget laundry keeps running when somebody keeps repairing it.

Repair or Replace, in Northwest Charlotte Numbers

At a median of $305 with a part replaced, repair wins comfortably on almost everything here — a mid-market washer, dryer or dishwasher delivered, installed and the old one hauled away runs several times that. Two situations genuinely turn. Sealed-system refrigerator work, at a company median of $956 for a compressor, where close to half the households we quote go ahead and that is usually the right call.

And a front-loader needing a tub bearing at $380 and a door boot seal at $450 on the same visit, on a machine already past ten years. We put both numbers in front of you rather than selling the first one. Our framework is the repair or replace guide, with expected service life in how long washing machines last.

Appliance Repair in Northwest and West Charlotte — Questions We Get

How much does appliance repair cost in northwest and west Charlotte?

The median is $305 once a part is replaced, parts and labour and the service call together, with the middle half of jobs between $273 and $360. That comes from 67 component replacements out of 115 paid visits across ZIP codes 28216, 28214 and 28208.

By machine our local medians are $256 for a dishwasher, $300 for a dryer, $304 for a washer, $316 for an oven and $348 for a refrigerator — though only the washer figure rests on more than six local jobs, so treat the rest as indicative and the company figures as equally valid.

Why is the washer such a large share of your work here?

We do not have a proven explanation and we will not invent one. The fact is that of 86 classified jobs in these ZIP codes, 28 are washers and 17 are refrigerators — 32.6 percent against 19.8 — while company-wide those figures are 22.4 and 37.2 percent.

Laundry as a whole is 46.5 percent of our work here against 33.1 percent company-wide. It is the most lopsided mix in our entire book, it holds across three years and 157 jobs, and it is why the washer page has the deepest local sample on this site.

What do I pay if the machine does not need a part?

Thirty-eight of 115 paid visits, which is 33.0 percent against 36.9 percent company-wide. By machine it runs 12.5 percent on dryers, 22.2 percent on ovens, 30.0 percent on dishwashers, 30.4 percent on washers and 38.5 percent on refrigerators. In those cases you pay the $99 diagnostic and nothing else.

The checks most likely to keep you out of that group are levelling a washer, clearing a pump filter or drain hose, reading a fridge with a thermometer rather than the door display, and clearing a dryer vent.

Are repairs cheaper here than in south Charlotte?

Barely, and the numbers are worth seeing. Our median with a part replaced is $305 in these three ZIP codes and $320 in the SouthPark and Providence ZIP codes — a five percent difference. Median home values across the two areas run from $236,300 at the low end here to $774,900 at the high end there, which is more than three times.

Inside this cluster the same test gives the same answer: house prices spread 25 percent between the three ZIP codes and our medians spread four percent. The bill is set by the component and the labour hour, not the address.

Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Routinely, and it is a large part of the work here — renter-occupied shares run 60.61 percent in 28208, 49.12 percent in 28216 and 24.30 percent in 28214 per zip-codes.com.

We will give the diagnosis and the quote to whoever is paying, including by phone when the owner is not on site, and the $99 diagnostic is the cheapest way to establish whether a builder-supplied machine is worth spending anything on before you commit. The same discounts and the same 90-day parts and labour warranty apply.

Which appliance brands do you see most here?

Of 90 branded work orders: Whirlpool 29, Samsung 22, GE 18, Frigidaire 9, LG 5, Maytag 3, Amana 2, and one each of KitchenAid, Kenmore and Roper. Whirlpool leads at 32 percent, where GE leads in both of our other Charlotte clusters. There is no Bosch, Thermador, Wolf, Miele, Sub-Zero or Asko job in the whole 157.

In practice that means the parts ride on the van and most repairs finish on the first visit. It reflects how often we are called to a brand, not how reliable it is.

Is there a busy season for breakdowns here?

Not one we can prove from this pool, and we would rather say so than sell you a season. Across years our 157 jobs run 40 in 2023, 50 in 2024, 33 in 2025 and 34 so far in 2026 — and inside those years there are months with no jobs at all and months with fifteen.

A gap of a whole month is a record of where our vans were routed, not of when machines stopped working. We will publish a seasonal answer for this cluster after a clean full year of even coverage, and not before.

How quickly can you get to an address here?

Same-day is realistic if you book early in the day, and refrigerator and freezer calls get priority over everything else because food loss is on the clock.

Position affects the slot rather than the price: the three ZIP codes cover 84.2 square miles, so an address at the far western edge of 28214 may be an afternoon appointment while one near uptown in 28208 is a morning one. There is no travel surcharge anywhere inside the cluster.
