Appliance Repair in Aventura FL
Appliance repair in Aventura runs a median of $375 once a part is replaced, with the middle half of jobs between $296 and $434. We have 159 jobs on record across 125 separate households here, 33 of them in the last twelve months.
And this is the most concentrated city we work in anywhere: 40,242 people inside 2.65 square miles of land — a density of 15,196 people per square mile, higher than any other city in these clusters, including Miami itself. Aventura is not a suburb that happens to have towers.
It is a city of towers that was incorporated in 1995, and that single fact changes something practical about every appliance call here. Your machine sits inside a building, and the building has rules, systems and neighbours of its own.

What Appliance Repair Costs in Aventura, by Appliance
Every figure below is a median across completed jobs where a part was actually replaced, with the part, the labour and the service call added together rather than a parts price with the real cost hidden behind it. Where the local count is modest, the South Florida base underneath it is named so you can see exactly what the number rests on.
| Appliance | Jobs in Aventura | Median with a part | Middle half | The base underneath |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator | 30 | $354 | $320 – $393 | 975 South Florida repairs at $400 |
| Dishwasher | 13 | $342 | $263 – $615 | 269 South Florida repairs at $345 |
| Oven, range and cooktop | 9 | $466 | 237 South Florida repairs at $389, middle half $320 – $511 | |
| Washer | 7 | $367 | 289 South Florida repairs at $386, middle half $328 – $463 | |
| Dryer | stacked and combination laundry throughout | 202 South Florida repairs at $359, middle half $307 – $389 | ||
| Ice maker and freezer | — | 71 South Florida repairs at $425, on 2,091 ice maker and 2,269 freezer repairs company-wide | ||
| All appliances | 159 | $375 | $296 – $434 | 5,175 South Florida repairs at $378 |
Across the whole city, 128 of our 159 jobs were completed and 71 of those involved a part going in. The brand mix runs Whirlpool 11, Samsung 10, GE 7, then Thermador, KitchenAid, Frigidaire and Asko at two each, plus Maytag, LG, Bosch, Liebherr, Summit, Speed Queen and Amana — a broad spread for a city this size, with a genuine premium tier inside it.
The wider metro picture is on how much appliance repair costs in Miami, and the regional service pages sit on appliance repair across the Miami service area.

Your Appliance Lives Inside Somebody Else Building Too
This is the single most useful thing on the page for anyone in a tower here, and it is not about the machine at all. In a single-family house, an appliance connects to services you own, sits in a room you control, and is reached by a technician who parks outside your door.
In a 2.65 square mile city of high-rise condominiums, none of those three things is true, and every one of them can cost you an appointment.
Four of them come up constantly, and all four are free to sort out in advance.
One: the building decides what you can have. Whether a gas riser reaches individual units is a decision made once, at design, for the entire structure — and in most towers the answer is no, so kitchens are all-electric permanently. Whether an exterior wall is available for a dryer vent is decided the same way, which is why stacked and all-in-one combination laundry is normal here rather than exceptional.
You cannot retrofit either of those into an apartment that was not built for it, and that is worth knowing before you shop for a replacement rather than after it is delivered.
Two: many buildings require paperwork before a contractor works in a unit. Typically a certificate of insurance naming the association. It costs nothing, we are happy to provide it, and it takes minutes — but if it surfaces at the front desk on the morning of the appointment, the visit does not happen. Ask your management office what they need and tell us at booking.
Three: access has hours. Service lifts are frequently restricted to a window during the working day, and some buildings require advance notice to the front desk or a reserved lift slot. That does not change what a repair costs, and it absolutely changes which slots we can offer. It is the main reason booking early in the day works better here than almost anywhere else we serve.
Four: the floor below you belongs to somebody else. This is the one that shifts a leak from an inconvenience into something to act on the same hour. A refrigerator ice maker line, a washing machine supply, and a dishwasher inlet all hold mains pressure permanently and do not stop on their own.
In a tower, water that gets past a cabinet plinth goes down rather than out. If you find water where it should not be, close the supply valve first and book second — and it is worth knowing today where those valves are and whether they actually turn.
None of that is a reason to hesitate before calling. It is a reason to tell us at booking that you are in a tower, roughly what floor, and whether your building needs paperwork or has lift restrictions. Those three details decide how long the slot needs to be and what travels with the technician.
What Makes Appliance Repair in Aventura Its Own Market
The newest city in these clusters, and it shows INCORPORATED 1995
Aventura became a city only in 1995, and its population went from 14,914 in 1990 to 40,242 in 2020. Compared with the sixty-year-old housing stock in much of Broward, that means a younger appliance park in purpose-built kitchens where the openings were sized for machines still being manufactured.
The practical effect is genuinely useful: replacement is a real option here rather than a carpentry project, and repairs are less often complicated by an appliance that has to fit a space nothing modern fits. It also means the faults skew toward electronics and controls rather than toward worn-out mechanics.
Free-standing machines in tower kitchens keep the numbers down $354 AGAINST $400
Our local refrigerator median of $354 sits well below the South Florida figure of $400, and the reason is what is installed rather than anything left out — every job here carries the same 90-day parts and labor warranty as one costing twice as much.
Aventura towers are largely fitted with free-standing and conventional appliances rather than integrated panel-ready columns, and that is the cheapest combination there is to repair: parts are stocked and shared across many models so repairs finish on the first visit, and access is a normal step rather than a procedure.
Sealed-system work sits at the top of the local file $2,605 AND $800
The largest invoices on our Aventura file are refrigeration jobs inside the sealed refrigerant loop: an evaporator coil replacement with a system flush, a new filter drier and gaskets at $2,605, and a refrigerant valve replacement with the system vacuumed and recharged at $800.
That is the one boundary in appliance repair that changes the category of a bill rather than the degree, and it is set out in full further down this page. Everything outside that loop, on any appliance in this city, is ordinary work at ordinary prices.
A genuine premium tier in a small city THERMADOR, ASKO, LIEBHERR
For a city of 159 jobs on our file, the badge spread is unusually broad: Whirlpool, Samsung and GE lead, but Thermador, KitchenAid, Asko, Bosch, Liebherr, Summit and Speed Queen all appear too. That matters in one specific way. On volume badges the parts are stocked and shared across many models, so first-visit completion is the norm.
On the premium and European tier the components are model-specific, which makes lead time a real factor and makes the model plate photograph genuinely worth taking before you call.
Water arrives from the county, not the city BISCAYNE, 80 FEET
Aventura has no water utility of its own — unusually among the cities in these clusters, it neither treats nor purchases and resells its own supply.
Miami-Dade Water and Sewer does all of it, drawing on the Biscayne Aquifer, which sits just below ground level and is reached through wells extending an average of 80 feet down, withdrawing roughly 330 million gallons a day and distributing through more than 8,500 miles of underground water lines to some 2.4 million residents.
Treatment runs through filtration, flocculation and sedimentation, softening and disinfection, with ion exchange and adsorption added, at three regional plants. The county publishes no hardness figure, so we quote none.
Storm season lands on the electronics COLD START FIRST
South Florida summers put every appliance in the house through repeated grid disturbances, and in a city with a younger, more electronic appliance park the effect is concentrated: the machine will not restart, or restarts showing a code it has never shown. Our own local file carries two range control and touch panel jobs at $647 each and a refrigerator control board at $813.
Before booking anything with a dead panel or an unfamiliar code, unplug the appliance or trip its breaker for five full minutes. A board holding a bad state after an interruption looks exactly like a failed one and clears on a genuine cold start, which costs nothing. More on that in smart appliance and control board repair.

The Six Appliance Pages for This City
Each of these is built on the jobs we have actually run in Aventura and the South Florida base underneath them, and each answers a different question.
Where the Work Is, Across Two Postal Areas
Aventura is simple to describe geographically and unusual in how little ground it covers: two postal zones inside 2.65 square miles of land, with another 0.87 square miles of water in the city limits.
The main city zone, 33180, carries 99 of our 159 jobs at a $375 median with a part. This is Aventura proper — the tower corridor along Biscayne Boulevard and Country Club Drive, and the streets around the mall. The southern zone, 33160, carries 60 jobs at a $347 median.
That zone is shared with neighbouring municipalities, so an address there may or may not be inside the City of Aventura, and the housing mixes towers with lower-rise and single-family stock.
The $28 gap tracks the equipment rather than the address. Where a zone has a slightly lower median it means the machines there needed slightly less substantial parts on average, which mostly reflects the age and type of what is installed. It is not a different price list, and the method is identical in both: the technician gives you a firm total before starting.
Because the city is this compact, travel inside it is almost never the constraint on scheduling. What decides your slot here is the building — lift hours, front desk notice, and whether the paperwork is already in hand. Giving us the postal zone plus the building situation at booking is worth more than anything else you can tell us.
A City That Was Built On Purpose, and Recently
Aventura has a shorter history than almost any city we work in, and a very deliberate one. The name is simply the Spanish word for adventure, given by the developers Eddie Lewis and Don Soffer, who reportedly remarked that this was going to be quite an adventure.
It became an incorporated city in 1995 — within living memory for most of its residents — after decades of being developed as high-rise condominium projects on land between Biscayne Boulevard and the Intracoastal.
The growth curve is the story: 14,914 residents in 1990, 25,267 in 2000, 35,762 in 2010, 40,242 in 2020. All of it packed into 2.65 square miles of land, which produces the highest density of any city in these clusters at 15,196 people per square mile — above Miami, above Hialeah, above everywhere.
And 28.3 percent of those residents are 65 or over, which is a specific and important detail for appliance work: this is a city where a refrigerator failing is not an inconvenience to be scheduled around next week.
Three things follow for the work we do here.
The appliance park is younger than the regional average. A city built out from the 1970s onward and incorporated in 1995 has kitchens designed around appliances that are still being made. Openings fit modern machines, services are where they should be, and replacement is a genuine option rather than a joinery project. That also shifts the fault mix: fewer worn-out mechanical failures, more controls and electronics.
Nearly everything is a condominium kitchen. Which means the association, the building services and the neighbour below are all part of the picture, as set out above.
And refrigeration comes first. With 28.3 percent of residents 65 or over, a warm refrigerator is triaged ahead of the rest of the queue rather than slotted in. If a compartment is above 40 degrees with food in it, say that when you book rather than describing the fault.
The One Line That Changes the Price on Any Appliance
Across every appliance in this city there is exactly one boundary that turns a repair from ordinary into expensive, and our own local file shows it clearly: the two largest invoices on the Aventura file are both on the wrong side of it.
Every refrigerator, freezer and ice maker contains a sealed system: a compressor, a condenser coil, a metering device, an evaporator coil and a filter drier, with a charge of refrigerant circulating in a loop that was brazed shut at the factory.
Working inside that loop means recovering the refrigerant rather than releasing it, brazing, replacing the drier because it has been exposed to air, evacuating the system under vacuum to remove all moisture, and recharging by weight.
It is a different trade on a different timescale from everything else in appliance repair. That is what a $2,605 evaporator coil replacement with a system flush and a new drier actually consists of, and what an $800 refrigerant valve replacement with a vacuum and a weighed recharge consists of.
Everything else — fans, thermostats, sensors, defrost heaters and timers, door gaskets, water valves, pumps, belts, switches, elements, control boards — is ordinary appliance work whatever the badge on the door says.
Our Aventura file is full of exactly that too: a drain pump at $453, a range touch panel at $647, a control board at $813, a freezer evaporator fan motor with a drawer gasket and a drain clean-up at $1,195.
Two rules follow that save real money. First, a refrigerant recharge on its own is not a repair. A sealed loop does not consume refrigerant — if the charge is low, it leaked, and it will leak again. Adding gas without locating and fixing the leak buys weeks rather than years.
A proper job finds the leak, repairs it, replaces the filter drier, evacuates under vacuum and recharges by weight, which is exactly why the invoice for one reads the way that $2,605 line does.
Second, and the single most valuable thing to know before anyone says the word compressor: a hum followed by a click is usually the cheap part. When a compressor tries to start and cannot, the overload protector cuts it out and you hear a click a few seconds later, then silence, then the sequence again minutes on.
Most of the time the compressor is healthy and the start relay that gets it turning has failed — a $389 median rather than $956. That is a meter reading rather than an opinion.
The same logic sorts the rest. On a washer the parts that fail sit within about a hundred dollars of each other. On a dryer the split is between the electrical supply end, the heating circuit and the drive mechanism. On cooking equipment the divide is between the oven cavity and the cooktop, which even inside one free-standing range are separate systems.
And on a dishwasher a large share of complaints turn out to be blockages, water temperature or the machine protecting itself rather than a failure inside it at all. The category of the fault decides the price far more than the brand or the age of the machine, and that category is established by measurement on the visit rather than guessed at over the phone.
Five Checks the Technician Runs First
- Kill the power for five full minutes. Not a switch, not a door, not a cancel button — the plug or the breaker, for five genuine minutes. Any appliance holding a bad control state after a grid disturbance presents symptoms indistinguishable from a failed board, and a real cold start clears them for nothing. In a younger, more electronic appliance park this is the single highest-value free check.
- Clean the condenser coil and check the clearance. Behind the lower front grille or on the back panel of anything that makes cold, plus four inches of clear space. A coil that cannot shed heat makes the compressor run continuously for years until it does not — and the compressor is the one line on any price list that changes category.
- Find your supply valves and turn them. The refrigerator ice maker line, the washing machine taps, the dishwasher tap under the sink. In a tower these matter more than anywhere else, because water that gets past a plinth goes down to somebody else. Confirm they turn while nothing is wrong.
- Ask your management office what a contractor needs. Usually a certificate of insurance naming the association, sometimes a reserved service lift slot or advance notice to the front desk. We provide all of it — but only if we know before the morning of the appointment.
- Photograph the model plate. Inside a door frame, behind a lower grille, or on the edge of a door. On the premium and European badges that appear on our local file, parts are model-specific and this is what decides whether the component arrives with the technician or has to be ordered afterwards.
What the Visit Actually Involves
The diagnostic is $99, or $150 on a stacked washer-dryer or a double wall oven, because in both of those cases two machines have to be separated or both cavities tested before anything can be assessed. That fee is applied to the repair the moment you approve the work, so an approved job never pays it twice.
The technician measures before quoting. On cooking equipment that means metering an igniter current draw rather than watching it glow, because a weak igniter glows convincingly and never lights.
On refrigeration it means testing the start relay before anyone says the word compressor, because a hum-then-click is far more often a small part than the large one. On laundry it means checking the electrical supply and the air path before the heating circuit.
You get the firm total before the work begins and the lead time up front on anything ordered — which matters more here than in most cities because of the European and premium badges on our local file, where components are model-specific rather than shared.
If nothing needs replacing you pay the $99 and nothing else. There is no separate charge for adjustment, calibration or advice. Every completed repair carries a 90-day parts and labor warranty. Our approach is on how technicians diagnose appliances, and the pricing method on how we price appliance repair.
One note on scheduling that is specific to this city. With 33 jobs in the last twelve months across 125 households this is a standing route, and at 2.65 square miles travel inside Aventura is never the constraint. The constraint is the building: service lift hours, front desk notice, insurance paperwork.
Booking early in the day and having the paperwork settled in advance is worth more here than anywhere else we work.

Appliance Repair in Aventura — Questions We Get
How much does appliance repair cost in Aventura?
The median is $375 once a part is replaced, with the middle half of local jobs between $296 and $434, across 159 jobs and 125 households. Locally the refrigerator sits at a $354 median with a part, the dishwasher at $342, the washer at $367 and cooking equipment at $466.
Underneath those sit the South Florida figures they rest on: 975 refrigerator repairs at $400, 289 washer repairs at $386, 269 dishwasher repairs at $345, 237 oven and range repairs at $389, 202 dryer repairs at $359 and 71 ice maker and freezer repairs at $425.
Every figure includes the part, the labor and the service call together rather than a parts price with the real cost hidden behind it.
I live in a tower. What should I sort out before the appointment?
Three things, and all of them are free. First, ask your management office what a contractor needs to work in a unit — usually a certificate of insurance naming the association, which we provide gladly but only if we know before the morning of the visit.
Second, find out whether the service lift has restricted hours or needs booking, because that decides which slots we can offer rather than what you pay. Third, locate your supply valves — the refrigerator ice maker line, the washing machine taps, the dishwasher tap under the sink — and confirm they actually turn while nothing is wrong.
In a building where the unit below yours belongs to somebody else, that last one is the most valuable five minutes you will spend.
Why is refrigerator repair cheaper here than the regional figure?
Because of what is installed, not because less is done — every job carries the same 90-day parts and labor warranty as one costing twice as much. Our local refrigerator median is $354 against $400 across South Florida, and the reason is that Aventura towers are largely fitted with free-standing and conventional machines rather than integrated panel-ready columns.
That is the cheapest combination there is to repair: the parts are stocked and shared across many models so repairs finish on the first visit, and getting to the back of the machine is a normal step rather than a procedure involving cabinet brackets and custom door panels.
The city being incorporated only in 1995 helps too, since the kitchens were designed around appliances that are still being manufactured.
Why can I not have a gas range or a vented dryer in my apartment?
Because both were decided once, at design, for the whole building rather than for your unit. Whether a gas riser reaches individual apartments is a structural decision, and in most towers the answer is no, which makes the kitchen all-electric permanently.
Whether an exterior wall is available for a dryer exhaust is decided the same way, which is why stacked pairs and all-in-one combination washer-dryers are normal here rather than exceptional.
Neither can be retrofitted into an apartment that was not built for it. It is worth knowing before you shop for a replacement rather than after delivery, and it is one of the reasons we ask what kind of building you are in when you book.
Is hard water damaging my appliances in Aventura?
It is a weaker explanation than most people assume, and we will not put a number on it that nobody publishes. Aventura has no water utility of its own — Miami-Dade Water and Sewer provides both water and sewer service.
The county draws on the Biscayne Aquifer, which sits just below ground level and is reached through wells extending an average of 80 feet down, withdrawing roughly 330 million gallons a day and distributing through more than 8,500 miles of underground lines to some 2.4 million residents.
Treatment runs through filtration, flocculation and sedimentation, softening and disinfection, with ion exchange and adsorption added, at three regional plants. The county publishes no hardness figure, so we quote none. On our own file a seized valve or a blocked fill tube here is more often mechanical or genuinely frozen than mineral.
Which appliance is most likely to cost me real money here?
The refrigerator, and specifically one part of it. The two largest invoices on our whole Aventura file are both sealed-system refrigeration jobs: an evaporator coil replacement with a system flush and a new filter drier at $2,605, and a refrigerant valve replacement with the system vacuumed and recharged at $800.
That is the one boundary in appliance repair that changes the category of a bill rather than the degree, because the refrigerant loop was brazed shut at the factory and opening it means recovering the refrigerant, brazing, replacing the drier, evacuating under vacuum and recharging by weight.
Everything outside that loop — fans, sensors, defrost components, valves, pumps, switches, boards — is ordinary work at ordinary prices. And one thing worth knowing before anyone uses the word compressor: a hum followed by a click a few seconds later is far more often a failed start relay at $389 than a failed compressor at $956.
How fast can you get here, and does the building slow it down?
This is a standing route with 33 jobs in the last twelve months across 125 households, and at 2.65 square miles travel inside Aventura is never the constraint — so same-day depends mainly on where the van sits when you call and on your building.
Service lift hours, front desk notice and insurance paperwork are what actually decide the slot here, which is why booking early in the day and having the paperwork settled in advance is worth more in this city than almost anywhere else we serve.
Refrigerator and freezer calls are triaged ahead of the rest of the queue because food loss runs on a clock, and with 28.3 percent of residents aged 65 or over that matters here: if a compartment is above 40 degrees with food in it, say so when you book rather than describing the fault.
The full metro hub is appliance repair across the Miami area, and neighbouring in-depth coverage includes Miami to the south and Hialeah to the west. The general framework for deciding between fixing and replacing is on the repair versus replacement guide.
