The refrigeration figure surprises people, because Thermador’s reputation is built on cooking — the Pro Harmony and Pro Grand ranges, the star burner. But their built-in refrigeration carries the same characteristics that make any built-in expensive to service: a unit set into cabinetry, panelled to match, with a sealed system behind it. Cooking equipment sits lower precisely because a lot of what fails there is mechanical and accessible.
