Florida oven and range repairs with a new part center on $396 with the cheapest quarter under $308 and the costliest quarter over $526. Before any part is priced, though, one question shapes the visit: what kind of cooking appliance you have. A freestanding range, a single wall oven and a double wall oven are reached differently, diagnosed for different fees and fail in different places. Company-wide prices by part, built from Bozmanfix invoices, are on our appliance repair parts cost page.

Sun City Center Oven and Range Repair

An oven that will not heat, holds the wrong temperature, has no power, shows an F code or a flashing display, or a cooktop burner that stays cold. Whether it stands on the floor, slides between cabinets or is built into the wall as one or two ovens, anywhere in Sun City Center or Kings Point.

Ten Sun City Center homes have booked us for an oven or range, one booking apiece, and six of those ten bookings fall within the last year.

Range, Wall Oven or Double Wall Oven

A freestanding or slide-in range carries the oven and the cooktop in one cabinet and can be eased forward to reach the back panel and the wiring. The diagnostic on a range is $99. A single wall oven sits in a cabinet cutout, and its diagnostic is also $99.

A double wall oven is a different job. Two oven cavities share one cabinet opening and one set of controls, and the unit has to be handled out of its cutout to reach the parts behind it. The extra handling sets the double wall oven diagnosis at $150 rather than $99, and the $150 converts to credit toward the repair on approval, exactly as the lower fee does.

The configuration shows up in our local file. The largest oven invoice in Bozmanfix Sun City Center records is $663, on a GE double wall oven that came in with an F34 error code. The range and single-oven repairs on the local list sit well below that. When you book, telling us which of the three you have settles the diagnostic fee before the technician arrives.

What the Ten Local Notes Say

All ten oven and range booking descriptions were read and grouped; one description can land in two groups.

No power, not starting, not working 3 NOTES

A Samsung range with no power at all, an LG oven that would not start and an LG oven that was simply not working. On the LG that would not start, the technician found a faulty temperature sensor and a blown thermal fuse and replaced both. A fourth note, on an Amana stove, described water spilled over the controls that ruined the circuit.

Codes and a flashing display 3 NOTES

The GE double wall oven with an F34 code, an LG range showing F9, and a Samsung whose display warned of a hot surface while the timer and temperature kept flashing, even though the oven still worked. A code points to a circuit, and reading it to us at booking shortens the diagnosis.

Temperature and heating 2 NOTES

A GE stove with temperature differences, and a GE Monogram oven where the owner suspected the bake element. Temperature complaints are tested with the sensor, the element and the control together. Background reading is on our page about oven temperature issues.

A cooktop burner 1 NOTE

One GE range had a center burner that stopped working. On a smooth-top range a dead burner points to the element, its switch or the wiring between them.

LG and GE are tagged on three bookings each, Samsung on two and Amana on one. Only one note in our whole Sun City Center file uses the word gas, and that one is about a dryer. One job without an appliance tag did involve a GE igniter, which is a gas part.

For the booking. Range, wall oven or double wall oven; electric or gas; the brand and model; and any code on the display. Book online or call (863) 663-2086.

Oven Symptoms and the Parts We Test

  • Oven stays cold, electric. The lower element first, then the thermal fuse, the board relay that switches it, and the sensor.
  • Oven stays cold, gas. Igniter, gas valve, the sensor that confirms the flame.
  • Wrong temperature. Temperature sensor, thermostat or the control.
  • No power, dark display. Supply, thermal fuse, control board or touchpad.
  • F code or flashing display. Depends on the code: sensor circuits, door lock, keypad or board.
  • Door will not lock or close. Hinge, latch or lock motor.
  • One burner dead. Element, infinite switch, or on gas models the spark module and electrode.

Electric and Gas Ovens Fail Differently

In an electric oven, heat comes from two elements, bake below and broil above. Relays on the board turn them on and off while a sensor reports the cavity temperature. When the oven stays cold, the element, the relay and the thermal fuse are the first parts tested.

In a gas oven the bake burner is lit by a hot-surface igniter that has to glow first. The igniter must heat up enough for the valve to release gas, so an igniter that glows but never lights the burner is one of the first parts tested. In our Sun City Center records the word gas appears once in all the notes, on a dryer, and one job without an appliance tag involved a GE igniter.

Sun City Center is named in the Hillsborough County list of the Peoples Gas tariff dated January 1, 2024, but being on that list does not put a gas main on every street. Census survey data for 2020 to 2024 shows electricity heating 90.8 percent of local homes and says nothing about how they cook. Your booking note is the reliable source for the range’s fuel.

Double Wall Ovens and the Cabinet Cutout

The F34 double wall oven in our Sun City Center file shows what makes these units different. The two cavities share one control panel, and the whole unit sits inside a cutout in the cabinetry. A replacement has to match that cutout, which limits the models that fit without carpentry. Measure the opening or note the model number before shopping, and tell us at booking that it is a double unit so the $150 diagnostic is settled in advance.

November Is Oven Season

Our oven calendar leans toward late autumn: November brings the most oven calls and February the fewest.

Fixing an Oven Against Replacing It

For a range, the comparison is the diagnosis figure against a new range with delivery, hookup and removal of the old one. For a wall oven or a double wall oven, a replacement also has to fit the existing cabinet cutout, which narrows the choice of models. Our repair or replace guide and how long ovens last walk through that comparison step by step; the repair price is settled with you before anything is ordered.

Oven Questions From Sun City Center

How much do Sun City Center, FL residents pay to fix an oven?

We have not done enough oven repairs with a part here to quote a Sun City Center figure.

My kitchen has two ovens stacked in the wall. Does that change the fee?

Yes. Getting at the parts means easing the unit out of its cabinet opening, so the diagnosis is $150 instead of $99, and it is deducted from the repair if you go ahead.

My oven shows an F code. Can you fix that?

Yes. Codes such as F34 and F9 appear in our Sun City Center notes. Read the code to us when you book; each code is tied to a circuit, whether a sensor, the door lock, the keypad or the board.

Water got into my range controls. Can that be repaired?

It can be tested like any other fault. One Sun City Center note describes an Amana stove whose circuit was ruined by spilled water. The technician checks the switches, the touchpad and the control board; across Bozmanfix invoices the control board comes to $454 and a switch, knob or touchpad to $394.

Do you repair gas ranges here?

Yes, along with electric ones. The community is on Peoples Gas’s Hillsborough County service list, and replacing a gas igniter has a $349 midpoint across Bozmanfix invoices.

Which brands do you service?

LG, GE including Monogram, Samsung, Amana and the other major makes. LG and GE are each tagged on three of the Sun City Center oven and range jobs.

How long is an oven repair guaranteed?

Parts and labor are guaranteed for 90 days. Members of Priority Membership get a longer warranty on our work, five diagnostics each year and $30 off labor.
