Hillsborough County Public Utilities’ 2025 water quality report for its South-Central system describes a supply from Tampa Bay Water that blends groundwater from the Floridan Aquifer, surface water from the Alafia and Hillsborough rivers and the Tampa Bypass Canal, and desalinated seawater.

How a Refrigerator Turns Water Into Ice
