Same-Day Appliance Repair Rates: 63,970-Job Study

⚡ Same-Day Availability 🔧 63,970 Real Appointments 📅 2023 to 2026 📍 FL · GA · TX · NC · SC · PA

Same day is what we aim for on every call, and this is the proof rather than the slogan. We pulled the scheduling records for 63,970 appliance repair appointments across six states and measured how fast each one actually got on the calendar. 57.4% were booked same day or the next business day. Same-day slots go out every service day in every metro we cover, and on Saturdays a third of all requests get one. Almost no appliance repair company publishes numbers like these.

If you are trying to work out how quickly someone can realistically get to your broken refrigerator, this page answers it with counts instead of adjectives — nationally, by metro area, and by the day of the week you call.

How Fast 63,970 Real Appointments Got Booked

Most claims about repair speed come from marketing copy. The numbers below come from 63,970 actual appointments in a live dispatch system between January 2023 and August 2026 across Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Pennsylvania. Business days exclude Sundays only, because Saturday is a normal service day for our crews.

Every metro with a meaningful sample books more than half of its customers same day or the next business day, and better than seven in ten within three business days. That floor holds across two dozen suburbs in two states plus the Carolinas, which is what a stable same-day operation looks like from the outside.

Why Saturday Is the Best Day for Same-Day Service

Saturday requests get same-day service in 33.3% of cases, a full third, and two out of three Saturday callers are booked same day or the next business day. That is clearly ahead of every weekday, and the reason is capacity rather than luck.

Saturday carries a full crew against a lighter booked schedule. Weekday routes are packed with jobs booked days in advance, so an urgent Saturday-morning request often finds an open slot that the same request on a Tuesday would not.

Practical takeaway: if an appliance fails Friday evening, calling Saturday morning gives you a one-in-three chance of a technician the same day. It is the cheapest thing a homeowner can do to get seen faster, and it costs nothing but timing.

The One Question to Ask Any Repair Company

Ask what percentage of their jobs get booked same day or the next business day. That single figure tells you more about a dispatch operation than any slogan, and it is far harder to dress up than an average. An average can be pulled around by a handful of unusual jobs at either end. A same-day rate is a straight count of how often the company actually shows up fast.

Ours is 57.4% across 63,970 jobs and three and a half years, with 23.3% landing on the same calendar day the phone rang. We publish it because it holds up. If a company will not give you that figure, the reason is usually the figure.

What Keeps a Same-Day Repair to a Single Visit

The best outcome is not just same-day arrival, it is same-day completion. Four things decide that, and three of them are in the customer’s hands.

  • Parts on the truck — our technicians carry the high-frequency failure parts for the brands we see most: control boards, valves, thermostats, belts, pumps and door seals for Whirlpool, Samsung, GE, Frigidaire, Maytag and LG. When the failing part is one of those, the repair finishes in one trip.
  • The model number — on a sticker inside the door frame, behind the kick plate or on the back panel. With it, a dispatcher confirms part availability before the truck leaves. Without it, part matching happens on your kitchen floor.
  • A symptom, not a diagnosis — “the freezer is cold but the fridge side is warm” routes better than “the compressor is dead.” The first tells a technician which parts to load. The second is a guess that can send the wrong truck.
  • Clear access — a washer pulled out of its closet, a freezer emptied, a path cleared to a built-in unit. Ten minutes of preparation regularly saves an hour on site.

When to Call Right Away

Most appliance failures can comfortably take the next available slot. A few are worth flagging as urgent on the call, because the cost grows by the hour and we triage them differently.

  • A refrigerator or freezer not holding temperature — a full freezer is real money in food, and the safe window is measured in hours once the interior climbs above 40 degrees. Say this when you call and it changes how the request is routed.
  • Any active water leak — a leaking dishwasher, washer hose or ice-maker line damages cabinetry and subfloor continuously. Shut off the supply valve, then call.
  • A dryer that runs hot but will not dry — restricted venting is both a repair issue and a fire risk, and it does not improve with waiting.
A gas smell around a range, oven or dryer is not a scheduling question. Leave the building and call your gas utility first. Do not operate the appliance, and do not wait for a repair appointment.

Everything else — a dishwasher that leaves spots, a slow ice maker, an oven running slightly cool — is a normal booking, and those make up the bulk of the same-day and next-business-day appointments in the tables above.

How to Get the Earliest Slot Available

  1. Call before 10 a.m. — routes are built in the morning, so a request that arrives while the first job of the day is still running can often be inserted into that same route.
  2. Have the model and serial number in hand — the single biggest accelerator in the whole process, because it moves part checking to before dispatch.
  3. Describe what the appliance is doing — sounds, smells, temperatures, error codes. Error codes in particular can cut diagnosis to minutes.
  4. Say if it is food loss, a leak or a safety concern — these get triaged ahead of routine work.
  5. Ask for the first available slot — rather than naming one narrow window on one specific afternoon, which limits what a dispatcher can offer you.
  6. Try Saturday morning for urgent work — the 33.3% same-day rate is the highest of the week.

What to Expect, in Plain Numbers

  • 23.3% same day — nearly one customer in four is seen the day they call
  • 33.3% same day on Saturdays — a full third of Saturday requests
  • 57.4% same day or next business day — well over half of all jobs
  • 71.0% within two business days — better than seven in ten
  • 78.4% within three business days — close to four out of five
  • 87.0% within five business days — nearly nine in ten inside one work week
These are counts, not targets. Every figure on this page comes out of a live dispatch system across three and a half years and six states. That is the difference between a published number and a marketing promise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is same-day appliance repair actually possible?

Yes. Across 63,970 recorded appointments, 23.3% were booked the same day the customer called, which is nearly one in four, and same-day slots go out in every metro area we serve. Saturday is the strongest day at 33.3%, a full third of requests.

How fast can I get an appliance repair appointment?

57.4% of all customers are booked same day or the next business day. 78.4% are booked within three business days and 87.0% within five, which is one normal work week.

What is the best time of day to call for same-day service?

Before 10 a.m. Daily technician routes are built in the morning, so an early request can still be inserted into the same day. Having your model number ready on that call is the second biggest accelerator.

Which day of the week is best for same-day repair?

Saturday. Saturday requests reach 33.3% same-day and 66.1% same day or next business day, ahead of every weekday, because Saturday runs a full crew against a lighter booked schedule.

What makes an appliance repair finish in one visit?

Carrying the right part and knowing the model in advance. Our technicians stock the high-frequency failure parts for Whirlpool, Samsung, GE, Frigidaire, Maytag and LG, so when the model number is known before dispatch the repair usually completes on the first trip.

Which areas does this same-day data cover?

Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Pennsylvania. City-level figures are published for the fifteen metro areas with at least 700 recorded appointments, including Atlanta, Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale, St. Petersburg and Marietta.

Should I repair or replace the appliance?

If the appliance is close to the end of its expected service life and the repair quote approaches half the price of a replacement, replacement is usually the better decision. Our repair versus replacement guide walks through the arithmetic, and how long refrigerators last covers expected lifespans.

Methodology

How this study was built:

  • Sample — 63,970 residential and light commercial appliance repair appointments recorded by Bozmanfix between January 2023 and August 2026 across Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Pennsylvania.
  • Measure — booking speed is the number of business days between the date the job record was created, which is the date of first customer contact, and the date the appointment was scheduled for. Same day means both dates fall on the same calendar day.
  • Business days — Sundays are excluded. Saturday counts as a business day, because it is a normal service day for our crews.
  • Exclusions — jobs missing either date, and records with a gap above 90 calendar days, which are data-entry outliers.
  • City-level figures — reported only where at least 700 appointments exist, which gives fifteen metro areas.
  • Rounding — percentages are shares of the 63,970-job base, rounded to one decimal place.

This is operational data from one company across the metro areas listed above, not a national survey. Last updated: August 2026.
