Standing water, will not drain. A $377 median across 508 repairs. Open the filter trap at the lower front over a towel and a shallow pan first. On Miele and Bosch machines that trap catches everything, and clearing it yourself solves a real share of these calls at no cost.
Will not spin, laundry comes out soaked. A $362 median across 384 repairs. On a front-loader the usual suspects are the door lock circuit and the motor control. On the compact European units, an unbalanced load will also abort a spin silently, so try a smaller load once before booking.
Error code on the display. A $385 median across 492 repairs. Read the code out when you call. Miele and Asko codes in particular map to specific assemblies, and knowing it in advance is often the difference between the part travelling with the technician and being ordered.
Leaking at the front. A $354 median across 482 repairs, and on front-loaders the door boot seal is the usual finding at $450. In a high-rise this is the fault worth booking quickly rather than watching, because the floor below yours is somebody else’s ceiling.
Musty smell in clean laundry. Salt air and humidity make this the most common beach complaint that is not a mechanical failure at all.
